Eva looked at Persephone two days later. “Why hot pink socks?” Out of all the questions she had, strange that one seemed to be the most pressing.

They were working on wedding stuff for Ataro; making bouquets. Well, Persephone was using her goddess powers to create the bouquets for the ceremony and the reception. Eva was mostly sitting around and pretending to help. There wasn’t much she could do except wrap ribbons around the handles of the bouquets once Persephone was done making them.

Persephone continued creating the bouquet she was working on while she answered. “Well … They were a wedding gift.” She rolled her eyes upward before shaking her head. “He kept asking me if I was getting cold feet. I think every single day leading up to the wedding, he needed reassurance. I bought them for him and left them in a box with a note telling him to wear them, so that I knew he wasn’t getting cold feet either.” She finished the bouquet she had been creating with magic and moved onto another.

"Did he wear them?"

Persephone smiled. "Yeah," she said wistfully. "He made sure to pull up one of his pant legs while I was walking down the aisle towards him. He said he had wanted to make sure that I knew, before I got to him, that he wouldn't have cold feet."

Eva stayed quiet, thinking about how romantic and beautiful Hades and Persephone were together. She wanted to find that, to have someone love her enough to wear ugly socks just for her. Unfortunately, she was stuck choosing between two men—Kai and Sean—she couldn't even do that.

Shaking her head, she changed the subject.

"You've got to be saving Ataro and Leo so much money by offering to make the bouquets," Eva wondered aloud.

Persephone finished the one she had been working on, a beautiful arrangement of purple and bronze lilies, surrounded by dark gray roses.

"Honestly do you still think that money is an issue for any of us?"

"Not really," Eva sighed. She held her hand out for the bouquet so that she could add the finishing ribbon around the stems. "I just didn't know what else to talk about."

"You mean besides the fact that I can hear you sighing like a heartbroken schoolgirl and it's such a shame."

Eva was embarrassed to be caught acting like a teenager. "Shut up," she muttered.

"You know, no one ever said you have to make up your mind right now. You've just moved here." Persephone reasoned. "You don't even have any memories of your god life before this one." She picked up another set of flowers and got to work turning them from seedlings into a beautiful arrangement. "The worst thing that could happen to you is for you to start a romantic relationship with someone and then discover that you're fated to be with someone else."

Eva stopped what she was doing. The bouquet in her hand suddenly felt very heavy and she stared at Persephone.

"What are you talking about?"

"Well, the whole thing
